Developer to Convert Fort Lauderdale Best Western into Condo-Hotel

An Atlanta condominium developer plans to convert Fort Lauderdale's Best Western Pelican Beach Resort into a condo-hotel. The oceanfront resort's rooms -- with an average size of about 600 square feet -- will be sold for between $400,000 and $800,000, with penthouses topping the $1 million mark.

It doesn't appear a renovation is in the cards: the Kruse family opened the resort in late 2004 and sales begin immediately.
